Working in the financial services industry since 2001, Michael is a strong believer in a holistic approach to wealth management. An unusually ‘hands-on’ advisor, Michael contends that the key to long-term success involves a deep appreciation of the hopes, needs, dreams and objectives of every client he advises.
Wealth management is, in Michael’s view, about putting together individual pieces of a complex puzzle. Correctly aligning the pieces in that puzzle presupposes a client/advisor relationship based on honesty, integrity, trust and a strong sense of shared purpose.
In particular, Michael is a passionate advocate of the client ‘Checkup Meeting’ which, in addition to being scheduled at least annually is carefully planned to cover such issues as:
- Investment Planning
- Retirement Planning
- Tax Planning
- Estate Planning
- Cash Flow Management
- Risk Management (Insurance)
In addition to his many professional designations, Michael is options and insurance licensed and is an active member of the HollisWealth Advisor Committee to Management (ACTM). In this capacity he takes a lead in giving valuable insight to management about financial trends and upcoming initiatives.
Michael’s wide range of clients include individuals, families, professionals, executives, retirees and pre-retirees.
Millennials & Young Professionals
Most recently, Michael has began to develop a considerable understanding of Millennials, a group of younger investors who now make up about half of the North American workforce. Millennials and young professionals are of particular interest to Michael because they offer him the opportunity to advise them through several life stages. He particularly enjoys working with them to consolidate and protect their assets as they are accumulated while growing their wealth over time.
Outside work, Michael enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing baseball, and watching his son play soccer and daughter dance.
Michael also takes part annually in the Ride to Conquer Cancer, a 200+ km bicycle ride from Toronto to Niagara Falls. He is an avid Blue Jays fan.
